When we climb Mt Kilimanjaro in June, the motto will be Pole-Pole, Swahili for "Slowly, slowly." We'll be taking the longest, slowest route possible to make sure that we reach our summiting goal of 5 895m (19 341 ft).
While we climb, we have another goal: to raise $5 895 for a charity that is very close to my heart: "Give A Child A Family". This amazing organization has been running in my home town for 30 years, providing many services for vulnerable families and children (see their website). They have placed so many abandoned, orphaned or abused children into safe, loving homes, and help make sure that they get a good education. We hope to raise funds for them Pole-Pole, one small donation at a time!
