My Story

I am running the 2024 Boston Marathon to raise money for Joslin Diabetes Center High Hopes Fund (which is now part of Beth Israel Lahey Health) and to show that type 1 diabetes does not stop me from achieving my goals.

I have had type 1 diabetes for 46 years. One of my kids also has type 1 diabetes. Through the years, I have seen many changes in treatment and the outcomes for all diabetics have improved so much. Joslin's High Hopes Fund provides immediate support to Joslin's most critical needs–whether that’s funding a promising new research project, educating a patient on the latest technology, or supporting patient care. Ultimately, the High Hopes Fund provides promise for a future free of diabetes and its complications.
Through programs like Joslin's High Hopes Fund, I have learned to manage my diabetes and live a full life including running 4 marathons so far! I want a world without diabetes and  your donations can help fund research to achieve that goal!

One of the great things about being a runner, is being able to run for causes that mean a lot to me personally. If you can, please donate to my fundraising project on GivenGain!

Thank you!!
