The Sexaxa village, on the outskirts of the Okavango Delta in Botswana does not have a school.  The children have to walk 5km to school in Matlapana and back everyday, sometimes in the dark and under the threat of wildlife and traffic.  This has led to irregular school attendance, low grades and early school drop-outs. 

I believe that education is a fundamental right, without which children cannot reach their full potential.   I am employed by andBeyond, who offers luxury experiential travel and through this aims to have a positive impact in all areas in which they operate.  Our guiding principle is articulated through Care of the Land, Care of Wildlife and Care of People, and the acknowledgement that each of these are inter-related and of equal value.  I will be raising funds through word of mouth to contribute to the construction of a school in the hope that we can build a brighter future for the children in Sexaxa.
