My name is Nivesh Nagar, Guillain-Barré (Ghee-YAN Bah-RAY) syndrome (GBS) survivor and a Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIPD) patient. GBS is a rare autoimmune disorder in which a person's own immune system damages the nerves, causing muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis. CIDP is a slowly developing autoimmune disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the myelin that insulates and protects the body's nerves.
