Hi. I'm Mike, and if you're reading this, you either have heard of
Mongabay or maybe you've seen me
talk about them here.
I am an actor, writer, and runner who found Mongabay at a time in my life when I was looking for inspiration. I fell in love with their mission of bringing to light the issues affecting our natural world, and holding power to account.
In the past four years, tropical rainforests, and the people who report on them, are increasingly coming under fire. People put their lives on the line to keep telling you the stories that need to be told and shedding light on land use, and corporate exploitation.
Mongabay's subheading is "News and Inspiration from Nature's Frontline," and that frontline, unfortunately, includes increasing destruction in the form of intentional fires in the Amazon, logging, and monoculture commodities.
At a turning point in the way our world uses and exploits the precious biodiversity it only gets one chance to protect, it is now more important than ever that we have accurate, and consistent reporting on the state of our natural world and the forces at play that threaten it.
Mongabay is a non-profit whose work is never done and needs all the support it can get. Please donate to this organization that has come to mean so much to me, and brings measurable impact to you and the world.
