The Ethembeni School caters to physically disabled and visually impaired children from all over Kwa-Zulu Natal, Kingdom of the Zulu (South Africa). The school creates highly educated members of society who are proactive, ready, and able to make a difference. The name Ethembeni means “Place of Hope”, and the motto, Phila Ufunde means “Live and Learn”. I had the honor and privilege to visit Ethembeni in 2014, and I was amazed and touched by what I observed. The school lives up to its name and exceeds it with what they do for the children. The goal is to raise $1,000 in order to help pay for a child’s tuition to live and learn at Ethembeni for a year.
