Trek4Mandela brings together inspired individuals from corporate and public backgrounds to assist in raising funds and creating awareness for the Caring4Girls programme. Research has revealed that girls from poor backgrounds could miss up to 50 days of school each year due to menstrual related challenges.

The Imbumba Foundation’s Caring4Girls Programme was founded in response to the harsh reality that millions of girls in South Africa miss a considerable number of school days and others drop out completely. The programme aims to give a voice to young girls, instil dignity and foster confidence.

9 August is South Africa’s National Women's Day which celebrates the liberation of women through all facets. As part of a fundraising campaign, to provide menstrual support and hygiene to thousands in the country and continent, a group of 7 women will be taking part in the Super Women Climb summiting Kilimanjaro on Women’s Day, 2023, of which I am one :-)
