My Story
I’M SO EXCITED!! I'm taking part in the 127th Boston Marathon to raise money for The Hoyt Foundation, Inc., who do great work for a cause that's very close to my heart and our community.
PERSEVERANCE and LOVE. The Hoyt Foundation stood out to me because of their commitment to "Yes You Can!!" Rick telling his father, "Dad when I'm running, it feels like I'm not handicapped." led to a 5 mile father and son team and has now become a community effort.
As a Social Worker for at-risk youth and families as well as Director of Support Services for a nonprofit - I know how critical fundraising is to not only keep these organizations going but also to help spread their mission. Throughout my career I have been told repeatedly that someone cannot have a normal life - and time and time again I find that through lending hope, inspiration and selfless acts - yes they can! Everyone deserves and can have a chance at doing things they love, with people they love to feel that magic within - having something that makes them feel connected and whole again.
Those who know me know that I have never identified myself as an athlete, but you do know that I am always committed to reaching goals. This is my second time running the Boston Marathon and I couldn't feel more honored and excited to be a small part in this big adventure. I began training with AAPT Boston and have been inspired beyond what I could have ever imagined! Running has become part of my life. I feel more energized, happy and balanced. Feeling this inspiration motivated me to push my mind and body. Now, I’m ready to run for the Hoyt Foundation!
Come on this journey with me! Follow me and my pup Keke as I continue to train @KekeDoYouNeedMe You'll find her cheering me on!
