Help Us Fight Period Poverty!

1 in 10 girls in SA miss school during menstruation.

The harsh reality is that disposable sanitary products are unaffordable for many vulnerable young women. Many end up leaving school or dropping out due to this and thus miss out on their crucial education.

The cycle of the menstrual burden has ripple effects on the economic development of communities as a whole. 

It is not just the girls and women who benefit from having proper menstrual hygiene. Therefore, women’s sexual and reproductive health are not just women’s issues. 

It is a human rights violation, period. 

For Women's day 2021, In Support of The Period Project SA, we would like to get 100 women to donate R50 each to help our little sisters who are entering this daunting but exciting phase of their lives. 

About The Period Project South Africa NPC

- The Period Project South Africa has supported more than 3000 young women, each with a year's supply of sanitary towels, communities in need;
- Campaigned that sanitary towels and the like are sold VAT free;
- Jointly hosted the first Pad Run in 2016, highlighting the plight of young women missing school;
- Acknowledged by one of our beneficiary schools, Masibambisane Secondary School for having the best-improved pass rate because their young women were able to stay in school and not miss it because of a period.

Stop the Cycle of Poverty by giving women a fair chance at completing their education PERIOD.
