My Story
I am running the Boston Marathon. Have I ever done a marathon before? Absolutely not. So what could possibility have possessed me to run 26.2 miles?!
I am raising money for Brookline Center for Mental Health in support of all of our friends and family struggling with mental health in the past, today or in the future. I am running for my nephew who faced adversity from family struggles with schizophrenia. After moving 3,000 miles joining our household during a pandemic, he knocked it out of the park in school this year. After seeing his success, the least I can do is run 26 miles! He should feel proud to share his accomplishments, but sometimes feels nervous to share his story.
Today, please donate to remove the stigma of mental health for our ourselves and our loved ones. Let's stand beside each other while being proud of our gains despite the struggles.
The Brookline Center ensures that adults, children, and families can access care where and when they need it. They provide outpatient mental health treatment and integrated social services for thousands of people each year, of all backgrounds and cultures. In particular, they care for underserved individuals with lower and moderate incomes, limited care access, and serious mental illness. Brookline opens their doors serving individuals and families facing adverse life circumstances or struggling with mental health issues, even with severe conditions or limited ability to pay.
