My Story
Hi everyone! I'm extremely excited to be taking part in 127th Boston Marathon to raise money for Expect Miracles Foundation. Expect Miracles does amazing work helping to fight cancer, and the money raised will go to the Foundation’s cancer research fund at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, their cancer research fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Samfund programs to assist young adult cancer survivors.
This cause is extremely important to me and I couldn’t be more honored to be running for it. I lost my grandmother to colon cancer and saw my grandfather battle it as well. My girlfriend was diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was a year old and continues to be treated at Dana-Farber. My grandmother was a Dana-Farber patient and received the best care in the world. If you told me I would be running a marathon a couple years ago I would have thought it was a great joke. I know it will be one of, if not the, hardest things I’ve ever done. However, I know it pales in comparison to the battle my loved ones and so many other people have fought and continue to fight against cancer each day. To be one small piece of this fight against cancer by raising money for the heroes at these cancer centers that fight it everyday is such an honor.
If you can, please donate to my fundraising project on GivenGain-every cent helps!
