Since December of last year I have been an intern at iKhaya le Themba. From the moment I met the children of iKhaya, I knew I wanted to make something with them and for them. The book was created to bring awareness about Imizamo Yethu to people outside the township to get to know the children and their community better. I also wanted to raise awareness and support for iKhaya le Themba as it is a safe haven where the children get much needed help. All proceeds from the book will go to iKhaya in order to organize outings
for all of the children and to support the children in their education.

"Life in the township is not easy. People here have a way of making something amazing out of very little. This acts as a constant source of inspiration in my life."

I have loved every second of every day here in Cape Town. Working at iKhaya has brought so much joy and hope into my life. Writing with the children and getting to know them better has made such an impact on me, that I shall never forget them.

Within the book you will find six different chapters. The chapters cover township life, fire, family, sport, hobbies and education. These are the
children's own thoughts, ideas and imagination.

After completing the book, we now need your help to print it. Please help our dream become a reality. With your support we will be able to provide a book for each child as well. They are so proud of their accomplishment and it will be a great joy for them to take one home to their families.
