I’ve been fortunate enough to play sports my entire life. Every and any sport I wanted to try, I always had the opportunity, equipment, and support I needed. Because of this, my life has been enriched in countless ways - one of which was being a collegiate athlete. What sports can do for young people is immeasurable. Throughout elementary school I was in an after school program that helped me with homework, allowed me to play sports, and make friendships that I still have to this day. Great Commission United is an after school program in an extremely underserved community in South Africa. It was started to give kids a safe environment to grow and learn. I have the privilege of volunteering at a non profit South Africa to work with these kids. The money I raise here will go directly to GCU to keep the program running for the kids that aren’t fortunate enough to have the support that I did.
