As many of you know at the end of 2018 my Dad was very seriously ill and spent 6 weeks fighting for his life in ICU in St Vincent's Hospital. After the interventions of an unbelievable team, multiple cardiac arrests and surgeries, the amazing team in Vincent's brought 'Lazarus' (as they nicknamed him) back to life. We will be forever grateful to every single person who cared for him and us as we dealt with an extremely tough situation. A doctor once referred to the condition of his breathing in ICU as being so bad it was as if he was running a constant marathon so anyone who runs can imagine how hard that would be. I may not be completing a marathon yet but I will be doing the Virtual VHI Mini Marathon on the 4th of October followed by the Virtual Dublin Half Marathon on the 24th of October. For me it took nearly losing someone to really appreciate what's important in life but I think with Covid we've all learnt the lesson of gratitude. If you can make any donation I would really appreciate it and hopefully any money raised can help another family save their loved one.
