My Story
Hi! I am running in 127th Boston Marathon to raise money for Youth Enrichment Services, a fantastic program that's very close to my heart.
I have been involved with YES since 2015 in a number of different roles. I began as an Operation Snowsports volunteer in the 2015-2016 Winter season and was able to see firsthand how impactful the services YES provides are on the youth we serve. The experiences I had on the slopes with these youth are some of my fondest memories; seeing them progress from not even being able to stand on skis on flat ground to having the confidence to tackle their first blue trails is a memory that has stayed with me as I've made the transition to volunteer roles more on the fundraising side of the program.
Over the past few years, I have been involved in the YES Young Professional Committee and the Black Diamond Gala Planning Committee, and most recently, I joined the Board of Trustees to help continue to spread awareness for YES's mission and raise the funds to support our year-round programming. Every year since I've been involved with YES, I've gotten the email about applying for a Boston Marathon bib to fundraise for YES and every year I've thought "maybe next year!"... and this year is finally that year!
I was very blessed to grow up in an environment in which safe and enriching access to the outdoors was a part of my everyday life; I work with YES to ensure that more youth are able to benefit from the many wonders of engaging with nature and outdoor activities. YES's year-round programming benefits thousands of youth across Boston's neighborhoods and it is only with the support of donors like you that this remains possible.
If you can, please donate to help me reach my fundraising goal for YES; every dollar counts!
