I've started raising money for Give-A-Child-A-Family today. They do amazing work and I'd be really grateful for your support! Give a Child a Family (GCF) is a non-profit organization that primarily works my home town in the UGU District in KZN, South Africa. Such an organization that I am very fond of and literally located 15 min from where I grew up. When I look at these young innocent faces, I cannot help but to think – I could have been one if these children, I could have been in the same situation. Thus I am forever grateful for having my Grandmother to help raise me when my own mother was at work. What this organization does is very remarkable. GCF is a child care and protection organization ensuring the care and protection of vulnerable children who experience multiple, and often intersecting risks to their survival, protection and development. Many of those risks includes factors such as poverty, abuse, neglect, exploitation, lack of access to essential services such as clinics, early childhood development services, and clean water and sanitation. Basically, in a nutshell, these children lack almost if not all the basic daily necessities that every first world citizen are taking for granted!! Including myself – guilty as charged. Please join me on this IGNITING UBUNTU Project hosting my first Fundraiser. I will be fundraising a total goal of $100 for the next 30 days for the children at GCF. By donating only $2 per person, I can assure you that your small gift will make a huge difference in the children’s lives, and most importantly will provide means to give them an equal opportunity to enjoy their rights to family care, to survive, be protected and develop to their full potential.
