This year, I was fortunate enough to be selected by Investec to run the 2015 London Marathon.
Like most families, we unfortunately have been affected by this terrible disease, Cancer and in recent years have lost two Special Angels - Anita Rossi and Steven Secco.
We also have family members who are struggling with this dreaded disease, where they fight this ongoing battle each day.
These individuals are our very own Soldiers and Survivors.
These Angels, Soldiers and Survivors have shown us the value of life each day, never taking for granted health, family, friendship and the beauty that surrounds us.
I have recently been fortunate enough to have completed the Ironman 70.3, and on this finish line were the words
"Never stop moving forward" which have stuck with me ever since. These brave individuals have done that and continue to do that every day.
They have inspired us to always have a brave face, love and find the beauty in life when all odds are against us.
They have demonstrated strong religious values and have shown how to fight the disease with dignity.
With each step that I run, their angel wings will be guiding me, reminding me to never give up, to have "faith, hope and love".
