Hi I'm Angela Yeung, the founder of the Impilo Collection Foundation and the brand ambassador of South Africa – play your part.
I invested 630 hours in rigorous training in preparation for this climb and gearing up to climb the Manaslu 8136 meters in the Himalayas, the “mountain of the spirit” and the 8th highest peak in the world. To end this tragedy of thousands of women and girls losing their lives to GBV every year.
It is a mountain that we, as South Africans, must overcome. That’s why I choose to climb the mountain to raise funds for an educational center that will empower and uplift young women who have faced the brunt of GBV, a mountain for a mountain.
2021 We collected a total of 6 200 bras and displayed at the Constitutional Hills; we handed in the memorandum to the dept of Public Safety, with the support of our social warriors, and washed, packed, and labeled each of the bras)Last year, International Women’s Month, we distributed all 6200 bras to 3100 women in Gauteng.
I climbed Island Peak for 6 200m to echo our campaign #EmpowerHer 6200 bras we collected. Now, our target is 8848 bras, representing the height of Mount Everest.
We need your help to achieve this goal any new and used bras can be dropped off at various points; please visit our website, www.impilofoundation.org, to see the drop-off points.
You can also donate toward our cause here at the Give and Gain.
Let’s ascend together, “Wathint’ abafazi, wathint’ imbokodo” (you strike a woman, you strike a rock)
