We are 18 trail runners, and we are aiming at doing the 13 Peaks Challenge. We truly believe that it’s the best way to experience Cape Town, and we love epic adventures in the mountains. Being able to link our passion for mountains with a purpose where we can make a difference in someone else’s life is an amazing opportunity.
We love the physicality the 13 peaks challenge offers, whilst being submerged in the beauty of Table Mountain. What a better way to do it, than with friends as an epic adventure. The only thing more rewarding than doing what you love with friends, is doing it for the benefit of others. We have decided to do the 13 peaks challenge in support of the ‘end period poverty’ campaign.
Period poverty is a prevalent issue in South Africa, where a large number of women simply cannot afford sanitary hygiene products. Lack of access to sanitary products is a major problem globally, and has a massive impact on the dignity, education and work productivity of many female South Africans. Support our initiative for us to introduce a sanitary pad vending machine project on campus.
You can help us to remove the obstacles that are hindering Maties from having a meaningful student experience and obtaining that sought-after degree. The cumulative impact of hundreds of generous donations can be staggering.
We ask that you donate 250 rand per peak we complete. You can pledge towards one peak, or more than one peak. Your contribution, no matter how small or large, is appreciated and will truly pave our way to success to help this cause become a reality.
