THE500, a 24Hr-Cycling-&-Spinning-Challenge, hosted by Distance For Difference (D4D), was successfully held for the first time in 2013 and has raised close to R3 Million for various children's charities.
In this sixth installment, cyclists will stretch themselves to the limit of their abilities, to cycle 500km over 24 hours with short breaks every two hours. More cyclists will have the opportunity to cycle one or multiple laps with the core group of cyclists. During the same 24 hours, there will be 24 spinning sessions of 45-minutes each, presented by energetic and encouraging spinning instructors.
All cyclists and spinners are encouraged to raise sponsorships to contribute to the fundraising target of the event.
Please watch the
launch video of the 2023 event, which will start at 10h00 on Saturday, 21 October 2023 in Somerset West (Cape Town, South Africa) and will end 24 hours later.
Our aim is to raise R750,000 through this fundraiser. The funds will be distributed to 10 headline
beneficiaries, as identified by D4D. They include
Esther van Zyl,
Tzadokah Foster Home,
Sylvia Frank,
Patch Helderberg,
Gabriella Centre,
Little Angels,
Heartlands Baby Sanctuary,
Hagar's Choice,
Kingdom Kids and
Kin Culture.
THE500 is more than just a cycling event; it's a chance to be a part of something greater. Join us in this exhilarating journey! Children in need, is our passion in deed!
