Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

Since 2015, Cognia has been a proud supporter of IkamvaYouth, a South African non-profit that is moving the dial on education and youth employment in the country’s most disenfranchised communities. Founded in 2003, the organisation is truly taking the future into their own hands by providing tutoring, mentorship, and career guidance to high school learners in 17 townships, with demonstrable results year-on-year. We at Cognia have been inspired by the work being done through IkamvaYouth and by their values of responsibility, community, integrity and paying it forward, which echo our own company values.

In 2022, volunteers from Cognia took to their bicycles to tackle the grueling 109km of the Cape Town Cycle Tour, raising over R67 000 for IkamvaYouth. The funds raised were used to provide transport for tutors from various colleges and universities around the Cape to Masiphumelele, where Cognia’s partner branch of IkamvaYouth is located.

This year we are thinking bigger and extending this initiative to our non-cyclist colleagues. Volunteers from the Cognia team will be challenged to cycle, run, swim, or walk/hike for IkamvaYouth during the months of February and March in the build-up to the Cape Town Cycle Tour on the 12th of March. Every cent raised will be used for the benefit of IkamvaYouth, to further the powerful work they are doing.

Please include the name of the Cognian you are supporting when you make your donation.
