I'm the Head of Communications at Greenpop. I speak for the trees.
I am The Lorax
Hello family and friends! At the end of this year, I will have been working for Greenpop, an environmental NGO based in Cape Town, for 5 years. Can you beLEAF it?What started out as a case study for my Master's thesis has transformed into a fulfilling and impactful career. Over the last 5 years, I have had the opportunity to travel Southern Africa working on inspiring sustainable development projects. I have met people who are working to change their communities and their environments for the better. And I have planted more trees than I can count. I have been shown the beauty and fragility of life on this planet and I am continually inspired to do all that I can to ensure that my children and grandchildren have a thriving place to call home. So, I need your help!I calling on family and friends to help me raise R10,000 by the end of this month to support Greenpop's ecosystem protection and restoration work. I truly appreciate any amount that you can give to help me achieve this goal. What's in it for you?- Bragging rights.- Sweet, sweet tax breaks: Greenpop Foundation NPC is a registered non-profit organisation and can issue a donation receipt for your tax deduction at the end of the tax year.- I will knit a very nice scarf for the person who contributes the most to my campaign. And if you hate scarves (weirdo), I will cook you supper. What exactly does Greenpop do? Greenpop collaborates with passionate individuals and organisations with years of experience to run contextually relevant environmental projects across Sub-Saharan Africa. These initiatives include planting trees and gardens in urban spaces, reforesting degraded areas, building capacity for conservation farming and climate change adaptation, and inspiring future environmentalists through eco-education campaigns. Rocking the Daisies 2014 TREES FOR TICKETS: Zoe Gauld
Greenpop has given me the opportunity to earn a free ticket to Rocking the Daisies 2014 by raising money for their tree planting projects! How cool is that? One tree costs R120 and I need to raise 10 trees to earn my ticket. But I'm not the only one who benefits! Greenpop will plant my 10 trees in urban greening and reforestation projects around the Western Cape and everyone who sponsors a tree will receive a certificate with the GPS coordinates of their tree to thank them for their TREEmendous conTREEbution. Greenpop is on a mission to (re)connect people with the planet. They plant trees and have fun doing it. It's a TREEvolution. Get involved!
