2013 - CHOC Cows to support Children with Cancer
This is our 6th year running and my 5th year riding the 94.7 for this amazing cause. So far the Choc Cows have raised R 14,643,533.
With the money raised we've managed to buy and renovate 2 houses that the families can stay in whilst the kids undergo treatment, renovated the oncology ward of Baragwanath hospital, buy vehicles and educated people on early detection of children cancer.
This year your contributions will go to funding the following three projects.
Support for the CHOC Bergvliet House - bone-marrow transplant patients are housed at the Bergvliet House for up to nine months because of the risk of infection. A portion of the funds raised will be used to support this house.
Support for the new CHOC House in East London – Funds from the 2012 Stampede were used to build a house where children and their parents can stay during their treatment periods. A portion of the funds raised in 2013 will be used to support this house.
Psycho-social services support - Social work support to the children affected by cancer in Johannesburg, East London and Bloemfontein.

94.7 CHOC COWS 2012: Supporting kids with cancer
Riding the 94.7 with the Cows to support children with cancer (CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA).
Funds raised in 2012 will be used to build a house in the Eastern Cape to act as the home away from home for the child and their family while undergoing treatment for cancer as well as to improve childhood cancer awareness. Statistics show that if childhood cancer is diagnosed early enough and treated correctly, the majority of children (about 70%) can be cured.
