Supporting Samaritans: Making a Difference in People's Lives
On April 15, 2024, I will be running the 128th Boston Marathon to raise money for Samaritans, Inc., which has been working to provide suicide prevention services in Massachusetts for nearly 50 years. I am running for those we have lost, to offer hope and support to those affected, and to end the stigma of mental illness. This cause is particularly important to me, as I lost my cousin, Anna Magill-Dohan, to suicide ten years ago. Anna was an incredible human being, and not a day goes by when I do not think of her. With an audacious spirit, she dedicated herself fully to anything and everything she was passionate about. She was constantly discovering adventure, and eagerly took on new challenges. In the last ten years, I have tried to live with this spirit, and am excited to take on the challenge of the Boston Marathon in Anna's memory. If you are so inclined, please consider supporting Samaritans through my fundraising project on GivenGain. Your support will go directly to Samaritans' work to provide lifesaving programs and services including a 24/7 Helpline, a peer text line, crisis services, grief support services, community education, outreach, and more.
