One Gear - 2 races 2 days
I will be riding in both the 94.7 Cycle Challenge and the 94.7 Mountain Bike race which occur one week apart. I will be doing the 55 km Mountain bike race on the 10th of November and the 95 km road race on Sunday the 17th of November! Crazy ha!? Not as crazy as doing both on a single speed BMX!
Yes that's right I will be doing a total of 150 odd km in 2 days, dirt and road, on a one gear BMX. Boom!

8000 KM for childcare
We will be doing the Put Foot Rally 2013 to raise awareness and funds for Abraham Kriel Childcare (AKC)! 8000 km in 18 days. Any vehicle, Any route! It is going to be mad...literally insane!
Abraham Kriel Childcare (AKC) is a registered NPO providing childcare in the greater Johannesburg and East Rand in Gauteng. Our passion is to ensure the optimal development of traumatised children in need of care. AKC provides both residential care and community services and focuses on providing shelter, care and rehabilitation for children between the ages of birth and 18 years old, who have been subjected to trauma, abuse, molestation, poverty and neglect. Currently AKC operates 21 (incl. baby unit) houses for children and carries out 6 community care programmes that provide food, shelter, pastoral care, remedial care, social services, skills development services and early childhood development.

One Gear - Cape Town to Johannesburg on a BMX!
”One Gear” is an initiative that strives to create awareness and raise funds for charitable causes by leveraging off the hype generated from an adult riding a single geared BMX over adventurously long distances.
Ryan Meiring will be partnering with “The Cows” in a crazy effort to raise awareness and funds for CHOC by riding his BMX from Cape Town to Johannesburg in under 25 days finishing off by completing the 94.7 cycle challenge with a herd of cows in November 2012.
