BIG NEWS! I've entered the Virtual 125th Boston Marathon, taking place on the 10th of October 2021.I am doing this in an effort to raise much needed funds for Zonnebloem Girls' Primary School. The school, with its motto "Ut-filii lucis ambulate" which means "Children of the Light" is located in the heart of Woodstock, Cape Town. Their students are mostly from the Khayelitsha, Gugulethu and Langa Townships - with their families struggling to afford the R2,700 (£130) per year school fees. As the school is located in an upcoming affluent suburb of Cape Town, the government is unfortunately reluctant to fully fund the school, which means there is little money available for general upkeep and maintenance. My goal for this challenge is to raise £3,000 for the school which will go a long way in helping them with the following:- Basic maintenance of the building (fixing leaks, fixing water damage and a fresh coat of paint)- Basic electrical wiring- Fixing and improving the bathrooms- Buying more projectors (currently the school has one projector, which is on a rotation basis between 10 class rooms)- Increased security, after a recent increase in burglaries With your help we can provide these students and teachers with an educational environment that they can be proud of.How you can helpYou can make a difference to by clicking on the donate button to make a secure donation which will go directly to the school.
