Riding bikes for kids fighting Cancer
Last year I did the 94.7 Cycle challenge for CHOC and ended up pushing an ice-cream bike around the course. It took us 8 hours but we did it, and raised some cash for CHOC.
This year I'm upping the ante. Armed with a (second-hand) road bike and a bit more fitness I am doubling down on the races and doing two (roughly) 100km races in order to raise money.
The first is the Amashova www.shova.co.za 106km from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.
The second is the 94.7 Cycle Challenge www.cyclechallenge.co.za around Jo'burg.
I haven't set myself any target times for either of these but it is going to be a lot faster than 8 hours for the 94.7.
I hope my friends and family will come to the party and give as generously as last year.
For those that don't know CHOC you can head over here www.choc.org.za, but the short version is that they provide holistic support for children suffering from cancer and life-threatening blood disorders as well as their families.
See you all at the finish.
