Mandela Day '22
It's with a feeling of overwhelming thankfulness, that I am writing to you...
Who knew in April, what would lie ahead?! After a lot of amazing ideas and pulling through; we could spend Mandela Day'22 in the most special way.
We used your donations to make 300 "breast care" - packs. The patients love it, we hear. Thank you for your contribution!
We decided to call ourselves #weseeyou - yay, and keep us in your thoughts, please.
On Saturday 16 July we arrived at the Helen Joseph breast care clinic with some drop sheets, paintbrushes & -rollers, a lot of snacks and enthusiasm! We cleaned the the clinic from top to bottom - ready for the next team to start painting. Thank you for enabling us to donate towards this day!
On Mandela Day, a few of us visited Princess Alice Adoption Home - armed with items on their wishlist - and spent 67 minutes playing with little ones and helping out in their kitchen. A lot of veggie peeling and chopping, and we had the best day! With your help, we could go out and spread a bit of cheer; thank you!
It's often the smallest task that complete the "puzzle" of an end goal. Your contributions enabled us to lend a helping hand to so many people this year. Thank you for the bottom of our hearts!
All done, you did this and what a day!
A thousand times THANK YOU to you, our donor and friend. You have contributed towards a special moment in a patient's life. Your donation gives a breast cancer patient a care pack with everything she needs to stay at Helen Joseph overnight, and to feel special and loved.
So D-day arrived and this morning we were off to Helen Joseph to deliver 300 Care Packs to the Breast Care Unit and it's navigators. They were blown away and we feel so honored to have done something special and kind for breast cancer-patients. Our team learnt a lot today, spoke to the doctors and facilitators and believe me - we will be back! We are inspired to do more and ready to go. Thank you for giving us that opportunity. BEST DAY EVER!
