The rampant fire of 12 August at Huis ten Bosch, a women’s residence on Stellenbosch campus, has been extinguished. All 164 students were evacuated safely. Due to smoke and water damage, they are now being housed in other residences. These students’ personal belongings and study materials have been damaged or destroyed, along with family heirlooms that are lost forever.

The damage is enormous, calling for a massive response. While the University will attend to reconstruction of the building, we appeal to you for your donations to support these young women with donations to replace clothing, toiletries, study materials and other pressing needs.
