The ABSA Cape Epic is arguably the premier mountain biking event in the world today. The top riders from all over the world (including 17 world- and Olympic champions) compete over 8 days, 657 kilometres and 15 550 metres of vertical ascent and bone-rattling descents off ancient mountain ranges, rugged and sandy mountain dual tracks and rocky single tracks.
From the iconic slopes of the Hottentots Holland Mountains to the picturesque setting of Stellenbosch, the route for 2022 will challenge all and reward those who have come prepared with proven partnerships, technical skills, fitness and mental fortitude.
For Maties Robert van Staden and Francois Swart, the Cape Epic is more than just a race. It’s about hard work, training, fighting obstacles and breaking down barriers. Riding the cycle tour for the 4th and 5th time respectivley, Robert and Francois have decided to tackle food insecurity among students by raising funds for #Move4Food.
Join us along one of the most breath-taking routes as we cheer on our #Move4Food champions. Please support their campaign to end student hunger on our campuses, improve academic success and contribute to a better South Africa for all. All donations are tax deductible. Let's make a difference.
