I am honored to be running my first Boston Marathon for the Wellesley Scholarship Foundation. WSF supports all students who live in Wellesley and /or are Wellesley high school graduates (including METCO, A Better Chance, and children of Wellesley Public School employees are eligible.)
I just completed my 23rd year of teaching at the Wellesley Middle School. I am also a parent of a recent graduate and a sophomore at WHS. I know first hand how hard these kids have worked to reach their goals during one of the most challenging times we could imagine. The expression “Life is a marathon, not a sprint” was certainly true for these kids this year as they had to work harder than ever to adapt to constant changes and challenges throughout the year. I love teaching middle school and love seeing the young adults they become when they go to WHS. I was honored to speak at the closing ceremony for our 8th graders this year. All of these kids truly did the unimaginable this year. Let’s help them go on to the next chapter of their education.
It is my turn to give back to these kids who have given so much to me during my 23 years of teaching at WMS. Making a donation will help these kids pursue their dreams. I have no doubt they will continue to give back to this community in so many ways!
