Two-thirds (65%) of South Africa’s learners walk to school. Learners who travel long distances have to wake up early and risk arriving late or physically exhausted. This can affect their ability to concentrate and learn at school. There are also other risks that may be different for young children, for girls and boys, and are likely to be greater when children travel alone.
The Bright Start bus gets our learners to school safe & on time. We also transport them to extramural activities and after-school events, the Bright Start learning centre for homework sessions or meetings, to health practitioners and then drop our learners home safely.
You can help by making a donation towards paying for a service, petrol or new tyres for the Bright Start bus. Your donation will ensure the bus is in tip top condition to transport our learners safely.
