This November, thousands of children from over 40 countries are gathering at the I CAN Children's Global Summit at the Vatican in Rome to share their stories of change. Stories of how they are taking action on the UN Global Goals and making change happen in their schools and communities.

This event is being hosted by Design For Change a global organisation with whom eduSOIL works, to enable children to identify issues, ideate solutions, implement action plans and share their stories of change. Meet our South African Changemakers here

Our changemakers come from two schools in Diepsloot, Johannesburg who participated in a Changemaker Catalyst Lab and then an onsite Changemaker Accelerator programme sponsored by LegalWise in 2018. This year eduSOIL has returned to the schools to enable these changemakers to raise their voices in Rome at the I CAN Children's Global Summit, Nov 27 - 30. We have applied for passports and visas, sourced flights and accommodation and now need 250 change-enablers to help us raise R250,000 to take our changemakers to Rome! Together we can empower 10 (superheroes) learners, 4 eduheroes (educators) and 1 voluhero (volunteer mentor) to let the world know that South African children are being the change!

Be one of the 250 change-enablers!  Donate R1,000 today.

This campaign is being run by eduSOIL, an international social enterprise nurturing mental, emotional, physical and social wellbeing through mindfulness, yoga and changemaker trainings and tools for learners, teachers and social eduprenuers in South Africa, India, the Philippines and Sudan.

It was founded in 2011 by Juanita Rea, who began her teaching career at Eastleigh Primary School, Edenvale and who returned to SA in 2015 after 10 years of teaching abroad to set up eduSOIL with the aim of addressing the need for mental, emotional, physical and social wellbeing training and tools for learners and educators.

eduSOIL South Africa is managed and driven by social edupreneur, Ayanda Timothy, Founder and MD of Prowess Institute and former Learning Coordinator, eSolutions Systems Support and Project Administrator at Rand Merchant Back. Ayanda makes every day a Mandela Day! She is taking action and being the change! Support our fundraiser and enable Ayanda to take our changemakers to share their stories of change in Rome.
