Team Next Step is back to run the historic Boston Marathon for the 8th time on behalf of the John Hancock Marathon Nonprofit Program! We are so grateful to partner with Sean Brown and Hannah Crowley who have volunteered to run the 126th Boston Marathon for Next Step on Monday, April 18, 2022! The money raised by Sean and Hannah will help fund our FREE year-round community, music, and mentorship programs for deserving teens and young adults living with cancer, HIV and rare genetic disorders. Thank you for supporting our mission to shatter limitations and elevate aspirations of teens and young adults living with chronic life-threatening illnesses.
At Next Step, we serve young people living with chronic illnesses—cancer, HIV, sickle cell, and other rare genetic conditions—between the ages of 16-29. We believe that if you empower them with the right skills, tools, and knowledge they will begin asking "What’s next?" instead of "Why me?" We help young people accomplish this shift in mindset through our change process—a 3-step cycle built upon the following pillars:
- Engagement: Building Community + Changing Perspective
- Education: Learning Skills + Growing Confidence
- Empowerment: Building Resilience + Developing Leadership
Thank you for supporting Team Next Step!
Next Step is proud to be an official partner of the John Hancock Marathon Non-Profit Program.
Thank you Turkish Airlines for sponsoring our 2022 Boston Marathon team. We are so grateful for your ongoing support of our mission.
