#MatiesHaveDrive aims to help SU students with getting a learner’s and driver’s license before they graduate in April and December. The impact of not having a driver’s license hinders their capacity to contribute to a talented workforce and contribute meaningfully to our economy. This project thus equips students who previously did not have an opportunity to obtain their driver’s license to aid in their post-univeristy success. The initiative works closely with local driving schools in and around the Stellenbosch area as well as the Visit Stellenbosch centre.
The #MatiesHaveDrive driving license school costs R3600 per student which funds 10 driving lessons per student as well as the driver’s test booking and license issuing fee. The #MatiesHaveDrive initiative has also expanded to include a learner’s license school, which costs R220 per student. This funds the ID photos required, as well as the booking and issuing fee of the learner’s license. Let us put our students on the road to success.

#MatiesHaveDrive help studente van die Universiteit Stellenbosch (US) om hulle leerling- en bestuurslisensie te bekom, voordat hulle in April en Desember gradueer. As jy nie ʼn bestuurslisensie het nie, beperk dit jou vermoë om by ʼn talentvolle arbeidsmag aan te sluit en betekenisvol tot ons ekonomie by te dra. Hierdie projek rus studente toe wat nie voorheen die geleentheid gehad het om hulle bestuurslisensie te bekom nie, om dit te kry en dra dus tot hulle sukses ná universiteit by. Die inisiatief werk saam met bestuurskole in en om Stellenbosch en ook die ‘Besoek Stellenbosch’-sentrum.
Die #MatiesHaveDrive bestuurslisensieskool kos R3 600 per student. Dit dek 10 bestuurslesse per student en ook die afspraak vir die bestuurstoets en die uitreikfooi van die lisensie. #MatiesHaveDrive is uitgebrei en sluit nou ook ʼn leerlinglisensieskool, teen R220 per student, in.
