It is incredible how something as simple as a school uniform has given a child the confidence to focus on their work and improve their academic performance. The pride these children take in their appearance when wearing their new uniform is mirrored in their work and every year I am astounded at how deep the impact is of this simple initiative. It truly can change a child’s life!
Established in 2009, the Kit-a-Kid programme has helped 4 792 children receive a full school uniform over the past 11 years. For some, this is the first new set of clothing they have owned. In partnership with PEP Stores, they can provide a uniform consisting of shoes, a short or a skirt, a shirt and a jersey for only R350. This year, Eco Children are aiming to distribute 250 uniforms to deserving learners at the seven schools they have partnered with.
Every R350 donated, goes directly to a child in the form of a voucher at their local PEP Stores and you can be sure that your R350 has the potential to change a life.
