This campaign has been established to raise funds to provide emergency relief aid in the form of food, water, hand sanitizers, face masks and thermometers to approximately 30 000 people who live in the communities that surround the 4 lodges owned and operated by Isibindi Africa Lodges. These communities are situated deep in the heart of rural Zululand in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa in environmentally sensitive areas of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park and in Zimbabwe in the Zambezi National Park. A large portion of these community members are employed by our lodges - which have temporarily closed due to the nationwide lock down - as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We feel it is our duty to do everything we can to assist them. Isibindi Africa Lodges has pledged R166 000 towards the campaign and is looking for donations of R600 000.00 to fund this campaign to provide humanitarian relief for 6 months. Working closely with our clinics and counsellors we have identified vulnerable homesteads with elderly persons, young children or zero-income earning adults.
