Where vulnerable children feel safe

Hello everyone, I hope you are well despite the challenging circumstances we all find ourselves in.

As you know, during lock-down, children are no longer at school and, sadly, for many South Africans this means that they are without the support they are used to as part of their school routine.

Never before has the world been as concerned about the well-being and mental health of our children and youth - especially those from under resourced communities.  Trauma is an everyday occurrence in the lives of many children - they observe and experience things that no child should have to face.  For many - their homes are not a safe space !

Community Keepers is concerned with the mental health and well-being of vulnerable children and vulnerable youth.  We base ourselves on-site in child-friendly consulting rooms at primary schools and high schools in under resourced and rural communities.  We are proud to offer a service equivalent to that which you would receive at a private practice.  Our multi-disciplinary team includes qualified social workers, psychologists, registered counsellors and life guidance facilitators.  Our Life Guidance Facilitators are all members of the local community who lacked opportunities but who we have trained up to guide Grade 9 learners through school subject choices, career choices and life choices which will have a direct affect on their future opportunities.

To date we have reached over 92 000 people offering them counselling, therapy and resilience enhancing life skills workshops.

At Community Keepers we have an 11 year history and we continue to grow and innovate, to reach more vulnerable children and to include more services so that we can help communities to cope and then to thrive and to build resilience for the future.

Please will you help us by making a donation today so that we can continue to offer this vital service - which will be even more critical after lock-down.  Your R230 will help us reach one more child, one more teacher, one more caregiver.  Please, we need your hel

Thank you for your thoughts, your prayers and your financial support,

We wish you all well
