Food security for DAM's community

Diakonia AIDS Ministry (DAM) has been serving the community of Jabavu in Soweto, South Africa, since 2003. Their programmes have a strong focus on support to vulnerable children – especially teenage girls.
DAM’s activities were negatively impacted by COVID-19 and the national lockdown. The needs of the local community they supported increased drastically as many households lost income. This situation was worsened by the pockets of civil unrest in July 2021 resulting in even more households in need of food!
In 2020 the CHABAHIVA Trust secured Covid-19 emergency support on behalf of DAM from the Evangelical Church in Westphalia (Germany). This enabled DAM to provide emergency food parcels, amongst other projects, for most of 2021.
DAM could reach out in support of more than 150 households thanks to this emergency support. However, these funds have now been used while the needs are continuing and even increasing. Households depending on DAM for food security have increased to more than 200!!
Therefore, the CHABAHIVA Trust appeals to you for a donation to enable DAM to continue with this crucial project!

Please help DAM to help their community!
Each R300 donation will provide one food parcel to a household for food for two weeks.

The CHABAHIVA Trust can issue Article 18A tax certificates. Please provide us with your personal details for such a receipt. (Email: trust.sa(at)chabahiva.org)
