Penreach is an education institution in South Africa with a focus in early childhood development, foundation phase numeracy and literacy, maths and science and school leadership.

While this has not been our core focus area, we find our most vulnerable beneficiaries locked down in rural settlements in Mpumalanga unable to meet the basic need of at least one meal a day. Feeding schemes that they rely on are locked. Formal and informal means of earning an income have dried up. The situation is fast graduating from dire, to catastrophic. Incidents of looting and public violence are increasing. For many, the choice is between death by hunger or death by Covid-19, but death is certain.

Our call to action is to respond to this pressing need and feed vulnerable families.

We supply basic nutrition for families with at least one child aged between 2-12 years.

The food packs we are distributing consist of the following:
● Dry foods
● Fruits and vegetables
● Covid-19 and hygiene booklets and videos in Mother tongue
● Reading books and stories in English and Mother tongue

President Cyril Ramaphosa has said: “I call on all of us, one and all, to play our part”.

This is our part.  Penreach has mobilized and has provided 2 328 food packs with 586 656 meals to vulnerable families. Our selfless and courageous team of volunteers and distribution channels are ready to serve more communities.

We are committed to ensuring that 2000 families in under-privileged communities receive at least one meal a day for the next 2 months.

We urge you to join hands and donate to this cause.

When we work together, we are stronger, one and all.

We are a registered NPO and issue Section 18A certificates for donations
