Earthchild Project has been working in local township schools since 2007.  We are currently working in 8 schools reaching 3500 children on a weekly basis.  Throughout the years, it has been an ongoing challenge not having our own space from which to teach our Programmes. Therefore, we have set a goal to build eco-friendly classrooms in all our schools by 2021!

The intention is to create safe, peaceful and positive spaces for the children.  The classrooms will be used every day for activities such as yoga classes, environmental education, holiday programmes and teacher training workshops.

The sand bag building technique is cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and provides thermal insulation benefits and soundproofing.

These quiet, safe and beautiful classrooms will be a sanctuary amidst the busy and noisy surroundings... a space for children to connect to themselves, learn new skills and be inspired to dream big
