The Nedbank Desert Dash is arguably Namibia’s most iconic race today. The 17th edition will see top riders from Africa and the world compete to ride what is believed to be the toughest mountain bike race in the world, stretching 393 kilometres from Windhoek to Swakopmund in 24 hours.
Maties alumni have gone in full training mode preparing for the Desert Dash. Two Stellenbosch University Alumni teams will put on their helmets, get on their bicycles and sweat it out and give their all in support of the Namibian bursary fund.
For our Maties cyclists, the Desert Dash is more than just a race. It’s about hard work, training, fighting obstacles and breaking down barriers. The route for 2021 will challenge all and reward those who have come prepared with proven partnerships, technical skills, fitness and mental fortitude.
Join us and support the team as they tackle the grueling Desert Dash in support of our Bursary Fund for Namibian students studying at Stellenbosch University. Please support their campaign to improve academic access and success for all. Let's help to make a difference.
