The Celebrate Life Foundation cancer awareness evening is focused on raising funds for cancer awareness events to be held in rural communities in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.
The events to be held in October in Tabankulu and Port St Johns in the Eastern Cape will enable the members of the community to be screened for cancers especially cervical and prostate. Breast examinations will also be done. The impact is bringing cancer screening access to communities that are likely to be diagnosed late due to lack of information.
The cancer awareness evening, targeting 150 people, will focus on gynaecological cancers with a gynaecologist as a guest speaker. This will be followed by a panel talk of 3 Specialist doctors (gynaecologist, surgeon and oncologist) that will focus on a journey from diagnosis to treatment.
