If you have spent any time in the Gardens area of Cape Town
in the last 20 years, there is a very good chance you have seen our little blue
church bus zooming all around the city.
We use it for everything – picking up children for Sunday school from District Six and Woodstock; ferrying our ministry team to the Joy Club after school outreach in Tamboerskloof; whisking our men and women off into the mountains for men’s conferences and women’s retreats; long distance hauls to Simon’s Town packed to the brim with equipment, books, décor and even a life-size fibreglass crocodile for our annual Africa Missions Conference. There is no task too big for our little blue bus.
But as it enters its 25th year of service we realise it is time to give it some much needed attention. The body, upholstery, instrument panels, silencer, shocks and the doors all need to be refurbished – after all transporting crocodiles (replicas or otherwise) is no easy feat, even for a VW Kombi.
This is where you can be a part of the legacy! We need to raise around R60 000 (roughly 4500USD) for all the work that needs to be done on it and to keep it on the frontlines of Christian ministry in Cape Town. So please head on over to the donation page, and with your help we can keep our little blue bus going and connecting the people of Cape Town to Jesus!
Calvary Chapel Community Church Cape Town began almost 20 years ago as a ministry to the homeless and prostitutes in Green Point, Cape Town. Since then Calvary Chapel Cape Town has grown into a family church based at Jan van Riebeeck Primary School in Kloof Street Cape Town. Although the church may have grown, the goal remains the same: to fulfil Christ's Great Commission of going out into the nations and making disciples.
