Bursary programme

For South Africa to continue to develop and grow economically, we need to develop more leaders from a variety of cultural, religious and racial backgrounds, allowing them to create a brighter future for themselves and ultimately for their country. The ultimate objective of the bursary programme is to develop well-rounded, well-educated young adults with a strong sense of community and a desire to give back to society.

While we give these talented youngsters the opportunity to lift themselves up through access to quality education, we also aim to develop their sense of social responsibility. Youth social responsibility involves developing a sense of commitment toward the community. This translates into an appreciation of the community, the environment, and participation in social and political processes.

Close cultural ties mean that whole families benefit when children do well, leading to the upliftment of the community, not just one child. Most of our current bursary students have expressed a desire to give back to their community and to society to repay the debt for the opportunities given to them.

  1. Through regular mentorship, we aim to develop the following in our bursary learners:

Social skills (communication, cooperation, conflict resolution, perspective taking)
    Social responsibility
    Appreciation for cultural diversity
Ecological balance and the importance of conservation
    System analysis

An investment in Eco Children is an investment in education, which ultimately empowers our youth to make better decisions and influence their communities positively to do the same. We are aiming to create agents of change and we invite you to join us in this endeavour.
