SANCCOB's seabird centre in Table View, Cape Town (South Africa) has been in operation for 33 years and has served the needs of more than 95 000 seabirds. But the elderly buildings and facilities are now in desperate need of renovation. We need your help to raise the necessary funds to build a new and better seabird hospital.
Construction started in March 2017 and will continue through to
December 2017. The new hospital will include, among other things, two
new Intensive Care Units, a three-part oiled seabird wash bay area, surgery, x-ray room, upgraded pens, aviary, pools and a laboratory.
While the majority of the funds to initiate the project have been secured, there is a significant shortfall in order to complete the building project and we need your help to finish construction.
As the biggest development in SANCCOB’s almost 50-year legacy, we urge you to join us in building a better future for southern Africa's seabirds by:
- Donating a brick (or more) at R50/€4/$4 each
- Start your own Activist campaign (run or cycle for penguins, get your school or office involved, have a cake sale for penguins, etc.)
- Telling your friends, family and colleagues about endangered African penguins and SANCCOB's new seabird hospital that will help to rescue and rehabilitate more seabirds
- Getting local businesses involved in supporting the Build4Penguins campaign
Thank you from all the staff, volunteers and seabirds at SANCCOB for your support.
