The Black Mamba Anti-Poaching Unit is made of 36 young, brave and inspirational unarmed African women patrolling 500 square kilometres of the greater Kruger area in South Africa, looking for poachers, wire-snares, and break-ins along the fence line. Since Kruger is home to the world’s largest population of Rhino, this unfortunately makes it one of the areas most prone to poaching.

Samsung & Africam have joined forces in a partnership of tech for good. Using smart phones and cameras as a ‘surveillance system’ to help the Black Mambas supercharge the security of Africa’s most vulnerable animals. Creating a world of eyes watching over the endangered wildlife and the most wanted predators, poachers.

Breaking strong patriarchal tradition, the courageous Black Mambas focus on eliminating illegal wildlife trade, education and wildlife protection. As community role models, they believe the war on poaching will not be won with guns and bullets, but through education within their local communities.

Through Wildlife Watch you will be closer to the work they do, see the animals they protect and by contributing, your donation will go directly to the Black Mambas and help these inspirational ladies grow their footprint and impact.
