Lambano Sanctuary was established in 2001 in response to the HIV crisis affecting children in South Africa. The aim of Lambano Sanctuary is to accept, into our care, children who have been abandoned or orphaned, especially HIV/AIDS infected/affected children. Lambano has four homes that house 28 HIV + permanent children. We also have a 16 bed Medical Step-down Facility/Hospice which looks after sick children from birth to 18 years of age. We are a unique facility, in that we are exclusively a paediatric facility in this area that has been operating with increasing success for more than 10 years. Lambano Sanctuary is 100% reliant on donations from outside sources.
