We’re a non-profit investigative newsroom. We expose wrongdoing, help other journalists do it too, and fight for transparency.

We give readers what they need to demand accountability.

We don’t do paywalls or ads. Our work is a public good to be shared by all, no strings attached.

But investigative journalism takes time and money. Readers who are able to donate – amaB Supporters – are our biggest source of income. (The rest is from charitable foundations.)

What’s in it for you? We mail you an amaB Supporter certificate and bumper stickers, and subscribe you to our free newsletter alerting you to stories as they break. The warm feeling for supporting open, accountable, just democracy is all yours!

Only individuals/charities please. Our funding policy bars donations from government and corporate entities. And if you donate more than R10 000 in our financial year, we acknowledge it publicly on our website and in our annual reports.

Do not choose "anonymous donation" if you want the certificate and bumper stickers, or if your donations may exceed R10 000/year.
