This Women’s Month, The Justice Desk, an internationally award-winning human rights organisation that empowers everyday people to become human rights defenders and everyday activists, is running their 'Girl with a Dream' campaign in which they will be celebrating women and the power of a girls’ dreams and hopes for the future. The aim is to encourage girl-children to keep dreaming, but to also actively help them actualize their dreams.

The Justice Desk (TJD), which operates in South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, is a youth-led, run, and inspired non-profit that empowers everyday people to become human rights defenders and changemakers in their communities. Their special focus is fighting for the rights of children, as well as in ending all forms of gender-based violence (GBV), which has seen them impact over 2 million people.

For their 'Girl with a Dream' campaign they will be hosting photo exhibitions, running activations, and pushing their messaging on all platforms - all whilst raising funds with an online fundraiser for their Mbokodo Project, which supports girl survivors of rape and GBV within vulnerable communities in South Africa. The Mbokodo Club, one of TJD’s flagship projects, offers vulnerable girls with empowerment workshops, mental health care, trauma counselling, and self-defence and fitness classes. This project has gone on to become a phenomenal success, reaching and empowering hundreds of young girls and inspiring people from across the globe.

Kayla Brittan, Chief Donor Officer at The Justice Desk explains: “As we are expanding to different vulnerable communities, our expenses for Mbokodo are increasing, for everything from transport and food, to mental health and empowerment workshops. We are calling on fellow supporters across the globe to join our movement and support our efforts to run this phenomenal project, inspire more young girls to continue to dream and help to actualize them. The more funds we raise, the more girls can access the project and we believe no girl should ever be left behind!”

By showing your support to amplify the 'Girl with a Dream' fundraising campaign, more girls will be able to join the project. Together, we can ensure we’re doing our very best to empower even more girls to reach their dreams.

Help us to invest in our girl-children.

We believe in you, do you believe in them?
